How do I access my free New York Times account?

All students, faculty, and staff at St. Catherine University are entitled to complimentary and unlimited access to everything The New York Times has to offer, including News, Games, Cooking, Audio, Wirecutter and The Athletic.

NOTE: If you already have a New York Times account and want to keep your recipes or game streaks, you'll have to cancel your subscription and then sign up with THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS using the instructions below.

  1. Navigate to accessnyt.com. Search for and select "St. Catherine University."
  2. The next step will depend on if you're currently on or off campus:
    • If you are on campus: Click the "Click here" link.
    • If you are off campus: Click the "Go" button. You will be redirected to the St. Kate's login page, where you'll enter your username and password to proceed.
  3. You will be redirected to The New York Times registration page. Click "Create account." Enter your email address and click "Continue." If you do not already have an account, you will need to create a password.
  4. You will be prompted to indicate if you're Student or Staff. Staff access is valid for four years from date of registration. Student access is valid until December of your graduation year.
  5. You will see a notice that “You’ve Claimed Your NYTimes Pass!” Click “Get Started” to continue setting up and personalizing your New York Times experience.
