Does the Library have textbooks?

The St. Kate’s Library has a Textbook Collection for student usage that started in Fall 2023. This initiative helps offset student expenses as a part of the Library's commitment to textbook affordability.

The Library’s Textbook Collection attempts to include at least one copy of any required textbook in either print or electronic format. Electronic or online books (ebooks) are accessible with a St. Kate’s login anytime, anywhere; print books can be used in the library only. Print textbooks are for in-library use only, and cannot be checked out.

Because of various publisher restrictions, not all textbooks are available for the librarians to purchase or may only be available in print. Supplemental material that accompanies some print or ebooks may not be available in the copy of the book that we are able to purchase.

Librarians strive to purchase multiple user ebooks when that option is available. However, some ebooks only allow a few viewers at a time. Therefore, you may be turned away if multiple people are viewing the same ebook at the same time. Refresh the page or try again later. Make sure to always close out of an ebook when you're done using it too!

Contact a librarian if you have questions about the textbooks for your courses.
